Here's my Christmas present for a Danish friend (and my first ever posting of a finished project Smiley ).

They're 4 small felt owls to hang up as decoration. Hand stitched and filled with a bit of polyester filling. I first cut all the parts out of felt, then sewed on the belly, wings and the brown of the eyes. Only the beek and black eyes were glued on using textile glue.

She really liked them and has asked for more in another colour combination. I haven't done a whole lot of crafting yet and this is the first project I actually dared give to somebody. I'm happy she liked them. It took a bit of time to make but it was so enjoyable. I am also learning to sew using a machine but there is something so serene about hand stitching that I know I'll be making more projects this way.

Regards,

Sonja

Thanks for all the compliments people. I hadn't expected that Grin

The owls are about 8cm tall and 3,5 cm wide. About the size of a packet of sigarets.

I think a bigger version would be a great idea too. I might do one, who knows. First, I have some other stuff to make.

Happy crafting people!

I made some more owls for my Danish friend, in another color combination. And this time it was really difficult to let go of them, these are really my favourite colours:-)
