This darn blanket took me forever!!
I started it in October, vowing that I would have it done by the end of the month. November rolled along and I SWORE I would have it finished by then. December crept up on me, and I finally finished it on December 19th - just in time for me to wrap it up and give it to my parents for christmas!

Here it is in all its glory-

I'm not a very good photographer, but you get the picture. It took me about 7 skeins of Wool Ease Thick n' Quick, so it weighs about 800 pounds. It is heavy and warm and wonderful (as evidence by the last photo, taken at my parents cabin in the snow).

You're diligence paid off, because this is AMAZING! Definitely looks warm and snuggly and the cabin sounds like a perfect place to have it!

What is its true color?

I've only just started knitting and I think that a throw would be a great project... after some practice.

the first picture is truer to the color. its kind of a deep dark red with a hint of sparkle.

its a very simple project - it is just really time consuming. it is certainly good for a beginner because the most complex part is the cable, which isn't actually hard at all. Smiley

Beautiful!  I want to make one of those so bad but am afraid I would get bored half way through or something lol.  I love the color you picked as well.

This is absolutely gorgeous and looks so cozy! The color is great.

3 months is not an unreasonable time to take to finish something this awesome. It would take me 3 years, at least!
