I've never made a gingerbread house before this year, but watching some of the gingerbread challenges on TV made me want to give it a try!  I've always been somewhat scientific, so I made a cardboard model and used it to cut out my gingerbread shapes.  As usual, if I'm going for it, I'm going all in!  I think it turned out really well, and was very excited to find a place to share my creation.

I love it! The details are wonderful and I can't believe the architecture of the whole thing! The chimney is awesome. Did you put lights inside of it??

You did a fantastic job.

Thank you!  I had a string of miniature white lights that I put inside of there.  The chimney is made out of caramels and the shingles out of chewing gum.  Most of the details are piped on, or were piped onto parchment paper, allowed to dry and then attached to the house.  The windows were made of rock candy that I poured into the openings before I assembled the walls.

Oh WOW. I don't know whether to cry, scream, eat it, steal your fingers... That's amazing. The windows, the shingles, the chimney... everything. Amazing. I cannot get over the idea that this is your first gingerbread house! BEST EVER!!

My favorite! I love these style houses and have never seen one in a gingerbread form. I love the candy cane front porch, and the light in the windows. Truly a work of art! Thanks for sharing.
