Quilted Name Pillow

After making 3 quilts and lots of reusable sandwich sacks - I have developed quite a stash of scraps.....so for Christmas I decided to make my niece, who has a unique name - ASHLYN - a personalized pillow for her bed! Appliqued the letters, quilted everything and then free motioned the top. Used my scrap cotton batting even. Made one for her brother too! They were both very well received at Christmas.

These are fantastic! What wonderful gifts. I'm sure they will be cherished for years to come. You did such a wonderful job with every element...the letters, the stitching, the patchwork backs...all fab!

I have a unique name and have never been able to buy the store-bought personalized goodies. I had a family member make me a laundry bag with my name on it once and I still use it (15 years later)

. I'm sure that Ashlyn will feel the same way about her special pillow!

It seems that my niece picked out names for her kids that I can never find anything personalized for them either...these would be wonderful...

I already have fabrics picked out for her son since I did the curtains, bedcovers and chair upholstery... lots of scraps

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

I used poly-fill stuffing as the pillow was a custom size based on the length of the name.

For the letters - I just used a font in my Photoshop - printed them out in mirror and then traced them in pencil on interfacing.....iro ned the interfacing to the letters and cut them out - worked great!
