What's everyone's favorite version of Alice?

I like the original, Disney, Tim Burton, Dark Alice, and mostly The Looking Glass Wars.  I have a bit of a literary crush on Hatter Madigan. *sigh*

My favorites are Tim Burton and Disney.  I like the literature of the original and Looking Glass, but not so much the imagery.

I am a traditional gal.  Tenniel all the way.  I'm also a big fan of the Arthur Rackham illustrations.  I enjoyed the Tim Burton movie and love all the costumes.  I am not a huge fan of the animated Disney version--at least for visual inspiration.  I forgot about the Looking Glass Wars.  I need to finish reading that series. 

I got lucky and took an entire class on Alice in college(my senior seminar for my English Degree).  I did my paper on the early 20th C. illustrations, so I tend to still really like those images.     

Also, in Alice related news, The Stampington people(Altered Couture, Belle Armoire, etc) are getting ready to do an Alice issue.  They had calls for artwork out all last year.  I can't wait to see what people came up with.

lol, I LOVE Hatter Madigan! I also really like the Tim Burton movie (especially the Cheshire Cat!) and American McGee's Alice. I tend to like the dark Alice interpretations.  Although, I do love the Care Bears in Wonderland movie...go figure. I like the original text, too, but I tend to be more impressed with all the fun interpretations I've seen come from it. The Scy-fi mini series was pretty good, too.  I'm not overly fond of the Disney version, though.

Im much fonder of the original story than any of the others, but I do also love Tim Burtons version, for me its not the darkness Im fond of, but the sheer insanity of it. The book when it was first written would most likely have been thought of as pure lunacy, I like how Burton made the modern one crazy enough to make all of us stop and stare  plus, the costumes and everything, awesome

i wasn't going to sign up, cause i thought the send date was listed as feb 2nd! oof. i felt a little panicky even thinking about completing a whole package in 10-ish days while doing work and roller derby and boyfriend stuff.

i will definitely keep this one on my plate, though. i will probably sign up once i get some other stuff sent out.

Excited to hear about the Stampington Alice issue.  I am a huge fan of Belle Armoire Jewelry.

I am a fan of Tenniel, and learned to be a fan of Arthur Rackham after the Make a Friend swap last summer and I did some Rackham jewelry for my recipient.  I like the Rackham Alice, but more of a fan of his Undine.  I like Tim Burtons Alice too.
