To use up some of the Red Heart yarn that my mother bought me when I was first learning to knit and crochet, I decided to crochet a ripple afghan. I had been working on it intermittently since spring of 2008. I finished it at 10:47 P.M. on December 31, 2010. Despite the ripple pattern, I wanted the border to make the blanket square. I used scs, hdcs, dcs, and trs to make a border that extended down into the ripple while the outer edge appeared level (picture 3). I believe I used 18 colors in all.

Oh that is so lovely.  I guess it must have taken you such a long time.  I love the colours and the ripple effect.

We all have a cute, creepy, and/or downright scary monster deep inside of us.  Don't be afraid to let it out!

I love it here at the ice cream shop. In fact, this is gonna be my happy place. If I ever get molested or raped, this is the place I'm gonna think of to make everything all right Stewie Griffin

Thank you all for your kind words! It's almost surreal, looking at my bed and seeing the huge blanket with its clashing colors. I can't believe it's finished. Alas, onto another project.
