Yea!!! Snow Days!!  I remember those days...kiddos have flown the coop...so I have plenty of time for stitching!  I've begun an Inga bag that I hope to have crocheted by the end of the month...maybe will take a bit more time if I stray from the pattern...I may want to do something different for the handles.  And then the lining I'd like to make for it will take a bit longer.  =]  I'll post pics at the end of the month as final progress...=]

Oh my goodness gracious! That inga bag is gorgeous! Gah! SO many things I want to work on! I'll be lucky to finish one granny square by the end of this month Roll Eyes I'm trying to focus on finishing up my last swap package (for 3 different partners) right now before I make anything else for myself. The craft something for me craft a long has really got me enjoying making things for myself Roll Eyes I normally only like to craft for others, but I can totally dig this crafting for me thing Wink

Thank you Dizzer...you must be referring to the Inga bag posted in the 50/2011 thread.  I finally made a lining for one I'd made last year.  It was done in wool, I felted it, somewhat, more like I bled the colors on it and only a little felted.
I'm making another one in cotton thread now.  I've tried making things w/this thread for several years, only to rip it out!  Now I'm just wanting to finish w/it and make something useful! =]

I'm back! Smiley I couldn't stay away from crochet for a WHOLE WEEK, so on Day 3 I went desperately in search of a cure. I found a very helpful thread on Ravelry about icing for short periods of time, frequently, and that has helped a ton! My wrist still clicks a bit, but it's hurting much less and no more numbness Smiley So yay.

Finally bought my background color for Mario and was able to finish the top row (14 squares) and most of the blue squares for Row 2 (7 squares) in the past few days. I already had the top of his hat done, so 3 more squares and I'll have two completed rows! I've decided to go a full row at a time instead of trying to do Mario first then the background -- all one color gets boring after a while! Smiley Also, I'm definitely finding that weaving in ends as I go and sewing them together every 2-3 squares is helping in the long run. It keeps things a little more interesting, saves my wrist a bit, and helps me feel like something is "done."

decided to start sewing rows together across the width of the blanket and making squares for the next rows as i go. got 5 rows of 11 squares a piece done so far. only 9 more rows to go and then i can sew them up the length of the blanket. it's awesome, it's starting to look vaguely like a blanket lol. can't wait til it's finished and i can post a pic Smiley

I hope your wrist is feeling better now, Kimi.  I'm doing one square a day for an Inga bag project and notice the hand feeling it, differently than when I knit.  Pain is not a good thing.  And not being able to crochet is worse!

msdrey...great work on your afghan!  I hope you keep on speeding through and can finish soon...pics are great!!

I'll post progress either way at the end of the month, but I can take a quick snap of the squares and yarn I'm using...*bbq*

I would really like to join in on this craftalong! I love making granny squares!  Grin

I've been crocheting for about 9 years but I think I've only ever made scarves, lol. I've tried to make blankets but I guess I just get discouraged and give up BUT I decided that this year, since I'm also participating in the 50 projects in 2011 craftalong, I want to make at least 4 granny square afghans. The one I'm working on right now is daisy themed for my best friend and I'm currently have 11/117 squares finished! I'm not in a huge rush to get it done but I do need to get it done before she moves back to Texas which is in September... I think Huh

I'm really loving all the progress pics! I especially love the pink and black sparkly afghan, KittyMom13!

First of February...and I've stalled out on my Inga bag.  I've run out of the yarn(yay) and can't find my other dark brown cotton yarn that I'd had laying around a few months ago...(boo).  I'm in the process of destashing my yarn and this CAL is helping w/that.  =]  I'm gonna break down and substitute an acrylic and finish this up quick!

Thanks for the 'thumbs up' meggy_doodle...it is a fav of mine, too. =]

On to February Granny making!  I've got a project in mind that isn't quite a granny pattern, but if they ever made a circular granny, this one would fit the bill!  Esther's Square...
