I'm thinkin about making a granny square scarf with the previous link I had posted. I would be quite ill if I spent tons of time making a blanket only to have dog nails ruin it Tongue

Ohmigoodness! I would simply ADORE a tiny granny square scarf like that! If only I had the variety of yarn to play with!

You could just make a few baby squares here and there with leftover yarn bits and keep them in a box somewhere to be scarfed later. Cheesy

Made some progress on my blankey today! I think I was able to finish 5-6 squares? Would count but DH is home and it's very shhhhhh! I'm hoping this will be a Big Awesome surprise.

Also, some of my Red Heart yarn is kind of stinky. Just smells like ugh, straight out of the ball. Has anyone had that happen before? Any tips? Heck, I don't even know if you can wash this stuff. (Can you tell I haven't kept much of what I've made? lol.)

same here, Dizzer...do I have yarn that is just right to make up into those cute squares and scarf???  We MAY have to have a swap-er-oooni!!!!!! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Kimi...I've heard of that happening w/yarn in the past...from the Yarn Harlot, herself...Stephanie Pearl McPhee.  =]
return it if you can, go somewhere else to get your yarn for a bit...I only buy small lots of the new yarns. Some of the new skeins have some serious problems...ratty yarns, smells, etc.!!!  I can't believe the poor quality (sometimes) of the yarns they sell these days.
really sorry to hear that too, w/a top secret surprise project underway!

I've had so many yarn skeins that I purchased that unraveled and knotted up midway through a project  Angry It's so irritating!

My current project is getting close to being done...according to the pattern.  I don't want to go beyond the number of rows so that it says nice and square.  Just one full repeat and part of another til it's done!

howdy all, i'm new around here. been crocheting since i was 9, but really got back into in the past 2 years. made my youngest a blanket, my niece a blanket, working on a blanket for my middle son and oldest son. kota's (oldest) is going to be granny squares of blue and yellow. just learned how to do them via youtube last week and got a little too giddy once i "mastered" them lol. since last week i've made 11 5" squares for the blanket. had to take a break and make me some gloves, but now back to squares lol

Kittymom, that is beautiful!

Well, I finally counted up my squares last night and I'm up to 31/252. Not stellar, but I technically have one for each day in January. *lol* I'm hoping to be able to move faster next time I start work on it, but I'm imposing a 1-week break on myself from crochet, mouse-using and hand-sewing. I have seriously messed up my wrist/hand/tendons with over-use and I do not have money for surgery. So I need to take it easy for a bit. What will I do with myself?? I felt so lost last night, watching TV without something crafty in my hands. Must go to the library and pick up some books!

Will try to post a pic of my Mario-strips thus far, soon Smiley

So sorry to hear about your sore working hand.  That would not be good to need surgery...then you'd really be w/o crafty distraction...worse!  Hope you get to feeling better soon.  And we would love to see some pics, when you can.
I like to break up my stitching and stretch often during my stitching times.  I also knit, so it works the hand differently.  Also, there is sewing, cross-stitch(very occasionaly), and other crafts.  During the summer I'm away from my crochet the most doing outside things.  =]
