I have embroidered on paper only a couple of times before, for postcards, and I really liked it.  I thought I could make a few Happy New Year's Cards this year, because I never get around to doing things in time for Christmas.  I find that the week between Christmas and New Year's is my most productive time each year.  So, I made 3 cards, sitting in front of the fire, listening to an audiobook ("The Elegance of the Hedgehog," if you care to know).

All 3 together:

My favorite, the Bird:

The Owl:

The Year:

Close-up of the Bird's wing:

Moustachioed Popsicle (Inside reads:  Be cool in 2011) It's an orangey color, hard to see here.

Hope you like these!  I truly enjoyed making them.  They will be hard to part with!

These cards are great! I love the texture that is added to a card with embroidery!

We're on craftster because we love to create. Why should we settle for what we currently are?

These cards are very heartwarming!   Did you draw out the design or free hand it?  Your stitching is very neat.  I like the bird one too.
