My brother's girlfriend wants me to make this hat for her but the seller on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop/talk2thetrees) doesn't have a pattern. Does anyone know where I can get either a free pattern or one I have to buy that's similar???

Well, she could always just buy the hat she ACTUALLY wants, or arrange for a custom piece. It's only $32 and the yarn looks nice considering the price. You'll have a hard time finding better yarn for less than that, never mind your time spent crocheting. But since you want the pattern, here's April Draven's pixie hood pattern:

It's not quite, quite exact, but I hope that's close enough Tongue

it looks like the yarn used is Lion Brand  Homespun yarn.

I'm sure that you could find some for less money than Lion Brand wants on their site...

I would have to agree that AprilDraven has a pretty good pixie style hats.  check out her etsy store because she does have a couple of different styles

If you are experienced with crochet, you might be able to adapt a pattern to more closely match the hat you are looking for
