Sock Monkey Army!

Okay, maybe half an army. I ended up making a couple of sock monkeys as Christmas gifts and it was a lot of fun! I wasn't sure who would get which monkey, so I decided that whoever showed up at my house first that day, would get first choice. Everyone ended up loving their sock monkey



The one with the extra long limbs is mine and my first test run.. he still needs eyes, but I might just leave him the way he is now.

I still have a sock dog to make on my list.. and more people are showing interest. I didn't think there would be a demand for these guys

Those are adorable! I love sock monkeys.

The pink stripey ones are my favourites. They would also make great baby girl gifts (as long as nothing was a choking hazard!).

Thanks for all the comments! They're actually strawberries on that purple one Sorry I don't have individual pictures of the monkeys.. they're all handed out now.

It's very easy to do and straight forward, just takes a little time to stuff just right and to hand sew the different parts together, but it's definitely worth it. The argyle one was the first one I tried to make and took the longest because I was silly and thought I'd try to use knee length socks for the project.. it turned out super cute but man was it a pain to stuff!!

Instead of regular buttons sewn on for eyes, I covered the buttons in black fabric, then sewed them on. The pink stripey on on the left went to an infant. They're quite child safe, as long as you sew everything tightly (the tutorial suggests sewing around the limbs twice to keep it all sturdy)
