I made this for my friend's daughter for Christmas. It was my first try at polymer clay and after finishing him I wish I had the time for a do-over! lol

Once I had him together and baked he didn't balance on his own so he could stand, now when I make Sally she not only has to stand balanced on her own but she has to put enough weight on Jack's left hand to keep him upright! Grrr!

My friend's daughter loves him, and can't wait for me to finish Sally to go along with him. Little does she know she is getting the complete set! By the time I get to the dog I will be a pro! lmao
I spent the afternoon while watching all the college ball games putting 'skin' on Sally's armature. I haven't finished it yet, the clay got warm so I had to give her a break for a while, just thought I would update you.

C&C's welcome!

Very detailed and perfectly lanky! You may be able to stick heavy washers in the feet to make them stand up better. Show us pictures of the rest when you're done.

I love your pinstripping on jacks suit. Whenever i've seen them done, I dont think its been so perfectly painted like that. I've actually been wanting to make a jack for a while but just havent gotten to it...this makes me wish i wasnt so lazy lol.

Thanks for the great feedback! Those pinstripes were the death of me to say the least! I tried three times to roll out clay to make the suit pinstriped without having to paint, obviously it didn't work! Every time I would get them neat and tidy I would try to get it off the table and it would stick or buckle. Finally I got PO'ed and ripped it off and started again in black then painted the white stripes on after with a detailing brush.

I got my clay book back from my friend's place so hopefully it wont take me as long to finish Sally with all the tips there is in there.
