The surgery went fine and the news was what I was hoping for.  I didn't take my kit, but did start a zentangle ATC.  Staples has small notebooks that are the perfect size for ATCs, and I want to start drawing more, so now my ATC kit is now simple and pretty much always with me.

I had wanted to make an ATC while I was under the influence but between the anesthesia and the 100+ temperature, all I did was sleep then try to stay cool.  But I do have a pretty "allergic to codeine" red and white band to play with.

MichellesCraftBaske t, good luck with your surgery.

I'm allergic to codeine too...and they still keep trying to slip me stuff that has it in it, even with the red band.  But very glad to hear your surgery went well and the news was good.

I know with my knee replace I would have been way too grumpy to make art.  At least for the first few weeks.  Plus my pain meds didn't make me feel any different, so I don't think it would have been a very "inspired" ATC Grin

Hi all! Any thoughts on starting up the finish (or start!) a theme swap with signups for the first two weeks of August? Are people still up for it?

Then maybe 4 or 5 weeks to craft (not to stringent so as not to interfere with the ongoing swap) so that some of the halloween themers would have more before october?

Groups of 4? Three each? Or larger? Thoughts?

OH OH pick me, pick me!  I wanna play!  I should have a free spot opening up soon (my partner has received, just waiting for feedback).  I've been wanting to start a series one.  And for amount, I am always willing for bigger, but I'm just a little on the crazy side.

Count me in! This sounds like a fun, low-stress swap! Except for the fact that I've never seen Lost..or Harry Potter.. but that's why God invented the internet, right? Cheesy

Did everyone miss me?  After my crazy, fanatic, every-two-minutes posts, it must have been pretty quiet, huh?  Smiley  Well, I am home from my surgery...  Was in the hospital a lot longer than I thought.  I took all kinds of crafty supplies, including my ATC template and colored pencils and they stayed right in my bag the entire time!  For a few days there, I thought I was going to die.  AND, I really wanted to!   Undecided  I had a fusion of my L5-S1 (my spine) and didn't think it would be a big deal, as I have severe back pain ALL THE TIME anyway.  Ha!  What I didn't count on, was the fact that they went in through my stomach and had to cut through my skin and muscles and then move stuff around (sorry, for those of you who put "don't like gory" as a theme!)  My back feels great, but any time that I do anything (including breathe) it moves my stomach, and my hurt muscles and incision.  Sorry if that was TMI for anyone/everyone, but I've missed posting so much!!  The point of my rambling is - my Pain Pill Series didn't manifest itself, but I guess there's still time for a Remembering Pain Series!   Cheesy

I'M BACK!!

I'm glad to hear you made it through MCB.  That sounds like a very intense surgery!  And I thought getting my knee replaced was the stupidest thing I have ever done (there's a long list...) for the first 3 weeks after the surgery, and now I love my little Timmy (named my replace after my surgeon) now so much.  I forget I even have it some times.  I sure hope you feel the "love" in a few months or so.

Welcome back, Michelle, and glad that the surgery's completed.  I too have my lower vertebrae fused.  Been that way for 33 years now. Glad that if I had to go through something like that, that I did it as a child!

Heal well!
