They are certainly "good enough" although we are not at all judgemental for this swap.  Just put in a good effort, and we are all pleased!  I really hope you can join us!!

They are wonderful!  I don't think you will have anything to worry about.  Like blupaisan said, we aren't judgmental.  Though it is understandable to be nervous.  I generally feel that way before I send something new out, but I don't know why.  Everyone's always nice about everything.  We all pretty much love everything we get, at least I do.  ^_^  They are just so much fun to collect!

I feel the same with everything I send. I'm always really happy with it until I get home from the post office. Then I start to think it won't be good enough.

I'm worried about one I posted yesterday in particular. I had a great base image, so I didn't do much to it at all, and now I feel like I kind of cheated. But it *is* really pretty... I think if anyone feels like they got duped by my simpler cards I'll offer to make another. But, sometimes less is more right?  Undecided

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to kno

If the size of the card is with in the 2.5 X 3 inches, then it would be fine if the corners rounded.  The size is because that is the size of baseball cards.  Some folks use playing cards I think as bases.  Michale's has little sets of blank ATC cards for around 3 bucks I think it is.  They are in the painting section at my Micheals. One of the sets has a variety of papers, so you can try out a few papers to see what you like.  I my self, am cheep and recyclish so I have used cereal boxes as bases, and even corrugated cardboard when I am doing a recycled theme.  I just covered the front with paper.

I like to cover my cards that are flat with a contact/laminate/mactack clear plastic layer.  I just think they look more like trading cards when they are shiny.  I've used Diamond Coat (I think it's called..) on a few cards that have dimension.  You can use it as the glue too, but it does warp the paper some times.  My favo glue (WELDBOND) can be painted over the top of cards to seal them too.

I use all different kinds of ways to mail them.  If I'm in a hurry I just cut a square of card board and slice two slits, top and bottom opposite each other, to stick the ATC corners through.  I have also wrapped them in cling film and then taped them to a heavier paper.  I mostly worry because some one said the machines can cut through the bottom of the envelope and the cards can then fall out.  SO if the support cardsboard is as big as the envelope, it has a better chance of not getting lost I think.  I have contemplated using plastic cut from milk jugs and shampoo bottles and such, but then what does the receiver do with a hunk of plastic LOL

Thanks, everyone!  I can't wait until August 14th!  It will be interesting to have to make one to a specific theme, as opposed to just making one.  I'm going to start my first one based on someone else's theme tonight (for a personal swap with jmiller).  NERVOUS!!  You guys are all so nice and supportive!  That's why I'm so excited to join this swap....  new friends!  Smiley  I just can't believe that I drew that stuff - I've never been able to draw!  And, after the first one (the cupcake) I actually went out and bought colored pencils so that I don't have to color like a 5 year old anymore!  I've never had anything else (the crayons are my son's) because I haven't considered myself an artist.  I also bought some watercolor paints (crayola, nothing fancy) so we'll see if I can get all crazy with that!  Smiley  I'm having back surgery on Friday (totally nervous) so I'm going to have to figure out how to pack all my art supplies so that I can "ATC" in the hospital!  Anyone else want to personal swap?  (Except that I don't know the rules, so if I'm not allowed to ask that, please disregard!)

Suereal, thanks for all the info!  I Mod Podged my tree one because I used real leaves!  It was fun!  What kind of glue is Weldbond?  I haven't found a glue that I love yet, so I'm always looking for new suggestions.  Could I cut from the middle of my card (to make like an hourglass shape?)

I think in the case of the hour glass, I would ask my intended victim swap partner if they minded that shape..or be vague about it and ask them if a strange shape would be OK as long as it fit in the card shape.  I would say yes.  But some may have a certain way of displaying things that would need to be rectangles.  If your thinking to cut the hour glass out of the rectangle shape, that would be fine.  I would advise that you make sure it is stiff enough to not be too fragile.  Perhaps you could sandwich a bit of clear plastic between 2 bits of cardboard?  Or just use a really stiff paper, or even a wood.

I just had my knee replaced last Aug., so I can sympathies with the fear.  I was so scarred.  But now I forget it even happened some times.  I send my best wishes that it will be fine and make your troubles disappear as mine did.  It's such a relief to not be in pain all the time.

WELLDBOND is a Canadian glue.  You might be able to get it at Home Depot in the States, tho I'm not sure.  But I get it at HD in Can.  It's a great all around glue, tho it is not the most perfect one.  BUT, you can thin it a bit and use it like ModgePodge...and it is never sticky.  MP can be so tacky some times forever.  I have a jewelry box I covered in tons of chatchkies (forgot how to spell that, sorry..but I mean tiny useless plastic thingies) about 16 years ago and it is still so tacky that the lid has to be pried open.  But WELDBOND (I always capitalize it cause I love it so much..) is hard and smooth and slick after it dries.

I would hook up with you for a personal swap, but I just found out we may be moving very soon.  And it will be a big move, city to country, so I've got to keep my craft dance card empty for a bit.  But I would love a card that was done while on pain pills LOL...so if you make me one then, we can arrange a swap latter Grin
