I'm in the preliminary planning stages for my sweet 16 for next year and I think I finally decided on a theme...Tim Burton! I was orginally going to do a Mad Tea Party, but a friend of mine did it for hers, and since I'm already stealing her venue, I figured I'd leave something to her. ^.^ I've already decided its going to be a costume party, with a costume contest and everything (I think I'm gonna take a crack at making a Ms. Lovett dress for myself, and a Sweeney Todd costume for my boyfriend!), but thats about all I've got. We're not the richest family around, so I want to be as thrifty as possible. Any ideas would be abseloutely fantastic and hugely appreciated!  Thanks guys!   Grin

If you like Nightmare Before Christmas you could have cut-outs of the Jack and Sally on the curly cliff silhouette to decorate walls or windows. Jack faces, with the many expressions available also make good cupcake or muffin toppers. You could also have silhouettes of other characters such as Edward Scissor Hands and Beetlejuice. This site has some food and table setting ideas you might use http://becslake.blogspot.com/2010/10/tim-burton-tea-party.html .

Good luck

Great idea!!! You should definetely serve meat pies. Also, have a cake that looks like Beatlejuice's grave! I think that would be really cool!
