Anniversary help please!

My IL's 40th anniversary is coming up February 1 and I'd like to make something for them, but I'm at a complete loss!

They are pretty boring, don't go anywhere, don't read books, don't eat sweets. FIL usually works and MIL sits at her desk and plays around on the computer (usually pogo or email).

So you can why I am at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?

BTW, 40th is ruby, so something involving the color red would be good. But what?

Shadow box with or picture collage some pictures of them and family through the ages - you can paint, decorate the frames, the mattes, or etch the glass.  How are you at sewing?  What about a quilt with the dates embroidared on it?  What about something embroidared or cross stitched to comemorate it.

A retouched wedding picture with embroidared matting  commemorating the dates?

Personalized champagne glasses for the occasion.  Decorative plate with their picture decoupaged on it?  Family scrapbook?
