Qazi, what's with these dolls, are you making stock for a shop or show? You're on a tear girl!

I haven't made dolls for such a long time.  The local doll artist guild, of which I am a member is having a exhibition stand at a huge craft and quilt fair that is in a couple of weeks.  The theme for our exhibition is Steampunk.  I am churning out these dolls for the exhibition.  I may sell them later.  Besides I just bought the book 'Steampunk Softies'.  These are fun and relatively quick to make compared to some of the dolls I usually make.

I love the new and original steampunk dolls that Quazicat is making... Shocked  They really are nicely done...can't wait to see how the exhibition goes. =]  Quazi...do you need any wire or little articles for making up more dolls?  I have some things laying around here that you may be able to put to good use!  PM if you want more info!

CLM...very nice dress/skirt for the little monkey...=]  and I like the gibbeous start to your made-over slip!  I think if you have a long crocheted runner you could make up a shrug in no time! I thought of ruffle sleeves on the straps of the slip.  The doily on the hemline is really pretty!

I've gotten one Granny's Daughters Afghan all finished, except the few ends to weave in.  I"m just a few squares away from having a Granny Square Swap afghan ready to put together.  Tomorrow starts the sewing party...I didn't wait to find a Free-cycle serger...I went and got one at the sewing store and hope to get lots of ideas on how to use it in the near future.  For now I'm making up pillowcase dresses for charity!  I've done that much and hopefully it is fully threaded and ready to go...=]

CLM - Your daughter is way too cute. I want her dress, by the way.

qazi, Minerva is a great name! Smiley

I made my wallet last night! Hold for a moment, let me see if i can find the site...
Found!
Except, i don't have anything to close it, nor did i use any interfacing. I wanted it a bit flimsy, and definitely as thin as possible as i carry my wallet in my back pocket.
Here it is:
Inside:

Outside:

With my things:

I wanted the fabrics to go together, but in the end i just went with my favorites.

Oh, and here's the ball of leftover baby blanket yarn:

I'm going to measure it out; i'm very curious how much i got out of it.

Oh, and! I'm think about finally trying to make some paper beads tonight. If i get a chance.

You guys have been busy while I was away!  I just love looking at all of the yarn goodies...the washcloths, the afghans, the baby afghan...wow...

CLM--still destashing like mad, I see!  Love the dresses!

qazicat--your dolls are so cute!  All of the details really make them unique and with so much personality!

ha ha - a knitted beer cozy and toilet paper?  Just so funny--I am sure that everyone was amazed and amused by your talent!

I spent my week helping my sister mend clothing, made a pillow for her out of a favorite t-shirt, helped her destash her supplies (uh, she gave ma tons of paper, crafting scissors, buttons, glue, alphabet cut-outs, punches, pens, etc.)  I brought back a lot and now have to find a place for it all...oh well, Love that it was free!

qazicat- I would love to see all the steampunk dolls together when you are done.

bananaleg- that scrap yarn ball looks fun, it would make a great scarf if you had enough.
