I used Spackle to texture the canvas. Just spread it thinly in different directions. I used the pink stuff so I knew when it was dry. Then I painted the canvas with a white/mustard yellow blend then mixed in blue to some for a turquoise shade to blend in on one end. The large had brown on the very ends to darken it more. Only the soft yellow is brushed into all the crevices. When that was dry I rubbed brown shoe polish onto them to bring out the texture more. I am planning to spray with a matte top coat to protect them more.

Inspiration without application is moot.

thank you scrappy...=]  I love seeing your work, too. Next month is sewing binge and get the WIPs FiniSheD!!  you are one of my sewing guru/inspiration craftster...=]

Is this a personal sewing binge or a Craftster-wide SAL? Because that is what I plan on working on most next month, many sewing projects before I toss myself back into school. [ugh, there is something wrong with me Wink]

rottenlittleboys...just a personal sewing binge!  I hope to improve skills by massive amt. of projects... Roll Eyes  And I've got my list RiTe here by the computer as a reminder.
I had piles of yarn around the living room (still do) but most of that has either been used or is stashed away in drawers downstairs.
So w/sewing projects, I'll get out one thing at a time and get it finished and move on...I hope to re-cut a robe bodice and get it finished right off! =]

what kind of things are you planning on working on??

Oh, and it helps that the new season of Project Runway is starting today...not that I design(by a far sight!), but it always makes me wonder...how do they DO that??? =]  Anyone else tuning in???

ooh! I wonder if they are showing it in Canada then?  I so want to see it all first hand.   hate watching weeks (or months) behind!

Belladune:
I've seen some of Project Runway Canada online and like what the designers produced for that show and wish that we could see some of those past seasons here in America... Smiley  Why can't our networks share a bit more than HGTV shows! =]

oh I know Kittymom!  so frustrating.  At the beginning it was never that way, we would see Project runway at the same time as you, but as soon as Canada got it's own, they stopped!  So annoying.  I wanna watch and lust after being in that position too...

ysmeine, that's exactly the sort of artwork i'd like to have in my house someday. Great colors, love the texture.
Also, i was curious about Ron's blanket, so i googled it... and a picture of some of your squares came up. Cheesy

qazicat, your dolls are awesome!!

Kittymom, i haven't watched Project Runway for a few seasons... but i recorded it last night, so as soon as i'm done here, i'm heading upstairs to watch! And craft, of course.

Maybe you all remember i was working on a baby granny afghan? Well... I'VE FINISHED!!!

Pretend you don't see all those loose ends in the back. I left all of the end-cutting for the very end because i like things to pile up, and then clean it all in one fell swoop. But i think i might take care of them as i go for my next one.
I couldn't decide on a border, but then i googled afghan borders, and i saw a ruffled border... perfect for a baby girl's blanket, am i right? I think it's adorable! (Just tell me it looks good. I don't want to change it. Smiley)
The colors aren't right in this photo, but i'll work on getting a better one sometime... It's far from perfect, but i can't stop folding it. I'm just in love with it. I'm definitely planning on making one for myself.

Also made this market bag for my best friend (she's the reason i haven't gotten a ton done lately... i was just in Ohio for her wedding). These bags are seriously awesome. They stretch to fit soooo much!

I gave it to her at her bachelorette party, and she put all of her stuff in it. Might not look it here, but i bet she could have fit nearly twice as much.

I made several coffee cozies on my trip, but i don't have photos of them.

My friend's family kept joking that if they needed/wanted something, i should just knit/crochet them one. Sorry. I can't crochet you a bow (yes, as in bow and arrow). Her brother asked me for a beer bottle cozy, so i used this pattern as a guide. But i changed the cable, and i put a little lip around the bottom, and the top seems quite a bit stretched out. So, it needs some work.

Now for my favorite gift EVER. My mom and my friend's dad are cryers. So, whenever they see each other, or us kids see each other... they give each other rolls of toilet paper. My mom forgot to give me one this time, but i had some white cotton yarn with me... so i knit him one. So, of course their family and i were the only ones laughing when we gave it to him at the wedding rehearsal... but oh boy were we laughing.
