2 more skirts from stash... hope im not boring you all lol

this weekend i organized my fabric stash by size and type which made me realize how deep i was in (not half as deep as most of you but deep enough to make me swear off buying any fabric until most is used UNLESS its clearance lol)

anyhow if your curious about my stash pix you can check out my blog ( http://sewingfaerie.blogspot.com/ ). i was going to post them here but felt it was way too many pix

anyhow, on to the skirts:
this was a fabric remnant i got a while back. it was just perfect for a short style skirt.

action shot:

and some super cute bleeding rose fabric... this one may be just a pinch too short for work but great for play... no action shot yet

thanks  Cool

A2J love your snack bags. are they lined?
sapphire your cuffs are so rad! they would do well for me at work... i have to cover my tattoos and have some on my wrists

lovely work ladies!   I took my sewing machine in for servicing finally, so I'll have it back by the end of the week.  Then I can get on finishing the projects I have cut out!

A2J love your snack bags. are they lined?

Yes.  I used astormorray's tutorial here, and lined them with PUL.  (I know, somebody here suggested that they aren't safe for food use, but I am totally comfortable with PUL's safety for food contact. Smiley )

I've got that tute bookmarked, I'd like to try a little bit of a different style on zip pouches and that one looks like just the ticket Smiley

I'm hoping to get a few more projects cut out tomorrow and maybe start and finish my smocked back tank top for me.  I have all my materials out and my machine is still threaded with coordinating thread from the apron top I just made on Friday....I'm good to go!

PUL = polyurethane laminate.  (You'll usually see it referred to just as PUL, though.)  It's fabric where a polyurethane coating has been laminated onto the fabric (usually a stretchy polyester).  It's used a lot in sewing diapers - also for feminine pads, wet bags, etc.  It hasn't been "FDA approved" for food, but other types of fabric with polyurethane coatings have, so polyurethane is apparently food safe.

Ok... I'm in!

So I've decided to destash, I dragged this bag upstairs and decided to use it all up before touching another bag. My stash of yarn isn't too too out of hand considering how often I crochet, but its still starting to take over the basement.

First thing I grabbed out was a mixture of greens, browns and whites. the result was this 10 foot long scarf, my first project with fringe, which always intimidated me before, but after doing it now... wow! its simple! Now I have to figure out what to do with it, I already have a lot of scarves, but I do really like it...

Then I had Lily go through my crochet books, and she picked out this bee from... Too Cute Crochet(I think). Of course, I suck at totally following a pattern, so its acrylic instead of wool, different colors than the bee in the pic, and I couldn't find my safety eyes, so Lily found the sunglasses in my button box, and that is what he got for eyes! Cheesy I HATE making amigurumis, but I dealt with it here for her. Cheesy It has wings, but I could NOT figure out the pattern for the wings, so I just *winged* it.

Then I made these grannies with nothing in mind in particular this past weekend, they'll probably find their way into a box...

And with that... I think I'm officially going to join the destash along.

That's really cool. Did you just randomly pull out colors or specifically choose them? Either way you're off to a great start.
