All this newspaper yarn talk has me wondering.. you can't get it wet, right?  so I wonder what that limits you to in terms of final project... baskets, sure.  but what else?  art?  maybe a rug in a bedroom?

Maybe not if you have small children.  I can just see this after a toddler pees on it.  Shocked

I have the most awesome tote bags made from newspapers and also wine carriers!  They are sewn together but they have some sort of coating on them that keeps them waterproof...I would like to spin some newpaper yarn to make some cute firestarters...just for fun...it would be nice to just experiment with it...I am sure there are plenty of ideas out in the interweb!

Aprettymess, what a cute purse! I tend to anthropomorphize things, so I see an angry face when the bag is closed and a surprised one when it's open. Grin This makes me giggle.

That's one of the reasons I put off making the yarn. But I found a list of suggested sealants so I'm going to  experiment with them, I will let you guys know my findings  Cheesy

lmso!!

I started a project that I've had planned for 6 months.  Not the oldest project planned in my stash, but one that will make my life way easier, and make it easier to finish up some other projects.   I'm making a larger Ironing surface that will fold up onto my wall.  And on the side that faces out, I will paint something!   So it's like functional art Cheesy  I have to get the hubby to cut down the wood a bit though as the stuff I'm using was found in my basement (when we bought the house 4 years ago) and part of it must have sat in water for a while.  Once he has that done, I'll be nearly finished!

It makes me want to create a sling purse I've got a pattern for in one of my books...but I have enough projects screaming to be done, first~ Tongue

I'm intrigued by the idea that belladune has going for an ironing board/art piece...hope we see some pics of it soon(I could get the Mister to build me one, too...) Wink   *ha ha...yea, right!*

I am afraid I must confess that I broke my yarn-fast yesterday.  But I finished the project that same evening, and it is all boxed up ready to go to its recipient, so I don't feel as bad as I should.  Plus, I am in love with that yarn, which is good, because I (as always) still have a third of a ball left over. *facepalm*
