I am currently cleaning my craft room, by the end of the day, I should know everything that I have in stash:)  and then hopefully I can determine projects for said stash:)

Looking for Sophia the first fabric and Frozen fabric (preferably flannel, but would settle for cotton) and Phoomph.  I'm in Canada and the companies are that I could order from charge $20-$30 shipping, so if anybody can find some and wants to swap/sell, I would be eternally greatfull.

good idea--how do you keep track of what you have?  I am amazed at how many projects you get done...I could use some organizing and tracking tips... Cheesy

I am in.   This will be my forth year of de-stashing.  Yes, I am aware that 2011 will be the 3rd year of the destash-along.  But I have have been trying to destash for longer.  And seriously I haven't really made a dent in it.

2010 was a very busy year for me (in real life) and as such I didn't get much crafting done in 2010 as I wanted too.  All though I did post some photos of the cards and boxes I made from my paper stash.  Unfortunately I didn't get photos of everything I made.

In January and possibly February I will be making ornaments.  This will clear up some of my fabric, beads and felt stash.

Is there going to be a theme as there was one year where January is white/for yourself/ etc , Feb is red/for your S.O. or someone else etc?

There will definitely be themes and challenges like last year.  I was going to post them at the beginning of each month so they don't languish forgotten on the first page.  Will that work for folks?

That'll work, though It might be best to also add them to the first page at the beginning of each month in case the thread moves along fast and the post gets lost.

here's Harry the de-stashing monster. He's being hypnotized to destash. I made him from scratch in the computer to be our de-stashing mascot. I have another version of him done that I'll post in a few weeks.

you WILL bust that stash...

LOL at the destashing monster Smiley

I'm going to join this for 2011.  Between purchases of my own, materials given by my mother, and 2 HUGE craigslist donations last year, my stash has grown to an almost unmanageable size Shocked  Surprisingly, about 90% of it is fully organized, and the other 10% is waiting to be edged, washed, ironed, folded and put away.  I have a MASSIVE stash of sheets and old clothing to be cut up and made into new things, as well as new fabrics.  I don't knit or crochet, so no yarn to be plowing through...paper stash fits in ONE plastic snap-lid box made for scrapbook papers...beads....well....beads have their own cart and 2 snap-top carry cases depending on whether I'm working with regular jewelry stuffs or hemp.  Beads are in constant use for swaps, so I'm not concerned about destashing them as much as I am about my textiles!

Copied from the 50 Projects 2011 list, as these projects are pre-planned (some carrying over from 2009 and 2010!) and have all their supplies readily available in stash:

1. Apron top for thelastkodama - custom item for STS **50% destashing only!
2. Gauze pants and tunic outfit for the beach (pants already cut out)
3. Long maxi halter dress
4. Infinity dress
5. MORE rainbow button cuffs for my shop
6. Recon bedsheet top
7. Recon bedsheet dress
8. Recon bedsheet lounge pants
9. Recon bedsheet lounge pants
10. Recon bedsheet lounge pants
11. Bubble tree applique wall hanging
12. Fabric/button Velcro cuff bracelet
13. Linen cropped pants (already cut out)
14. Bib/statement necklace
15. Simplicity 2600 duffel bag for Nicky
16. Apron top for ME
17. Patchwork pants
18. Patchwork dress or skirt
19. Button-encrusted stocking
20. Serger cover
21. Strips totebag
22. 2 sets of 6 season-generic placemats for our dining table
23. Button encrusted Christmas OR season-generic wreath - will decide later!
24. Tank top dress recon
25. Recon bedsheet dress (McCalls 5659)
26. Set of coiled rope coasters - 6
27. Storage coiled fabric bowl for coasters
28. 2 large oblong coiled rope trivets
29. Button cuff bracelet for personal swap
30. Sundress for bananaleg
31. Custom cluster bracelet for audio in STS - Astronomy
32. Custom cluster bracelet for audio in STS - Venus-Inspired
33. Overloaded charm bracelet for ME
34. Sundress for ME (McCalls M5843)
35. Mod podged mini embroidery tin
36. Purple button cuff bracelet
37. White and MOP button cuff bracelet
38. Crystal light wallet
39. Tablerunner for dining table (coordinate with placemat sets)
40. Lime green button cuff bracelet
41. Shades of green button cuff bracelet
42. Shades of yellow button cuff bracelet
43. Shades of blue on blue button cuff bracelet
44. Rainbow button cuff bracelet #1
45. Rainbow button cuff bracelet #2
46. Rainbow button cuff bracelet #3

This list is about 7/8's of my current 50 list.  A couple projects require me purchasing some materials for them (wool suiting or bottomweight fabric and more flannel prints for a cloak and flannel rag quilt).  I'm excited to get destashing and completing projects for the new year!

Oh, I need in on this. I gave the craft room a cursory tidy yesterday and I am ashamed at how much stuff I have. There are a couple of quilts in there at least.

I might have to keep an eye on this, Im the queen of starting a project and not finishing it, and Ive got a fair amount of random stash to prove it! I have so much yarn Ive had to colour sort it otherwise Id never find what I need! In fact, alot of my yarn I end out giving to people who knit (or crochet) for the MS Charity that a freind of my Grans runs  Cheesy
Plus, it might be a handy way of making stuff for my Pullip (my Christmas gift to myself)  Grin

I'm definitely in for another year of this! I don't know how much I'll get de-stashed, but I sure need to organize and reduce the amount of space my stash takes up, so any amount of destashing will help. I will be able to get a lot more done once my youngest starts preschool next year.
