As much fun as it is to hoard craft supplies, it is even more fun to use them.  This is the third annual craft-along devoted to projects made from our stash.  Join us on a year long shopping spree through the materials we have on hand.  We'd love to see at least one project from stash per month, but more is definitely encouraged.  There will be themes, challenges, and discussion topics every month to inspire or ignore as your crafting muse fancies.  Feel free to post your goals, keep us updated with your progress, and show us lots of pictures.  And remember, its never too late to join!

Past DeStash-Alongs can be found here:
2009: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=282392.0
2010: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=332509.0

Themes
January: White, for yourself, stripes, birds, take stock of your stash.
February: Red, for someone who needs cheering, polka-dots, hearts, unfinished objects
March: Green, for charity, argyle, "green" crafts, letting things go.
April: Yellow, for the outdoors, floral, using that special material.
May: Purple, for the home, checked, learn a new craft.
June: Pink, for kids, argyle, 6 month stash review.
July: Blue, for anyone, stars, knock out a winter holiday present early
August: Free for All
September: Brown, for organizing, plaid, final touches.
October: Orange, for Halloween, wood & trees, bits and bobs.
November: Free for All
December: Red and Green, for last minute presents, shiny things, end of the year stash assesment
Let the DeStashing Begin!

I might do this.. I want to, I don't have a large stash at ALL, but every time I buy something I feel guilty. I won't list anything to much, as it will not sit well with me. I've already experienced that in the 50 projects/2011 craft-along:
Quote
I went back and deleted my list.
I have this messed-up conscience that if there's a date when something's "due", then I have to do it right NOW. My brain doesn't let me enjoy things, are just my day unless I finish it. This list was sitting on my mind ALL the time, even when I slept. I couldn't enjoy anything! So I went back and I deleted my list. I now feel much better. If the projects get done, They'll be done. If not, then not.

My current project is a toy fishing set. Everything from my "Stash"

I'll pop in from time to time. I'm pretty depressed by my broken sewing machine, though. No idea how soon I can have it fixed, either...

I signed up for the Rapunzel Scarf swap and have some goodies of my own I'd like to add into mine, plus I'm sure many bits and bobs will be sent to other Craftsters. I have random yarns that are annoying me Tongue

I have several "panels" of black and white houndstooth that I think were supposed to be curtains. Maybe a retro outfit a la Male Pattern Boldness?

The piece of denim in my living room will hopefully be jeans for my hunny as soon as that darn machine is fixed.

I don't know what to do with a grocery bag full of orange suede scraps... Maybe a personal swap?

I'd like to finally use that 10 yard length of uber-expensive tulle I found at a second hand shop to make myself a petti-skirt. I've only had it nearly five years... 10 yards of tulle takes up a lot of space!

I need to make at least one more pair of belled jeans with all my quilting cottons (unless more jeans bite the biscuit before summer). I think this one will be purple, light blue, and black with butterflies.

Meh, that's all I can think of right now, and a depressingly large amount needs to be done on my broken sewing machine...

ok--here is the mini list of what I want to destash soon since I need room!

1. white flannel--make baby receiving blankets, cloth paper towels
2. 6 yards of printed flannel--make PJ bottoms-2 pairs
3. yellow retro bowling print fabric--aprons!!
4. 6 skeins variegated yarn--caplet for me
5. various leftover fabrics that I am just sick of looking at--make project bags for me and friends--possible sweat shop

I am on my way to buy a ton of zippers for cheap so I can make a whole bunch of small accessories for the sweat shop!

I have a few things I'm still looking for ideas for.

*Rexlace
*Soda tabs. I'm thinking something useful, but don't know what.
*Lots of pretty fat quarters but don't think I'm up for quilting. I might be able to use some for doll clothes.
*White tiger latch hook. Had it forever, need to do it!
*Polymer clay
*Beads
*Random things

I'm thinking I'll go to the book store and look through the craft books for more ideas.

Im definately in again this year; 2010 was a bit of a write off, but this year I am definately emptying the suitcase of fabric under my bed and clearing out all the wool and unfinished projects from my cupboard otherwise there might not be room for me in my room anymore!  I also might clear out all my embroidery flosses too.  It would be nice to start from scratch...

I am so... horrified about my stash.  I was looking for something last week and couldn't find it, and looking through all my forgotten bags of yarn and roving... and it was amazing in its immensity.

I've decided that in 2011 I will not be buying yarn, because I have everything/can make anything with all the stuff that's in my stash!  (same with fabric, seriously!)

That means I will need to do more spinning in the new year, but that's awesome...  Grin  Also, I need to start weaving again, as I'm piling up warp and weft...

I think I'll be jumping in here this year - I taught myself how to crochet last year and since then have accumulated a huge bin full of yarn that needs to be used up! I know it's not nearly as bad as it could be, but I want to utilize what I have since I live in a small apartment and it gets cluttered with my stuff way too easily. I'm in the craft for me -along too and have been working so far to crochet up some stuff for myself  Cheesy Right now I'm in the middle of some leg warmers!
