So I was telling my partner how I figured out that oven mitts would be the perfect gift to give to a hard to craft for friend.  He asked me all sorts of weird questions such as I planned on putting on the oven mitts.  I told him they would be made of fabric...I didn't need to put anything "cool" on them.  Then he mentioned in a very "trying to be subtle but failing miserably" pouty way that he likes pot holders.  In a "so subtle he didn't even catch it" way I got him to tell me what sort of pot holder he prefers.

He is into zombies big time.  I purposely quilted them uneven and roughly stenciled the bio-hazard and radioactive symbols on them.  I am slightly concerned about the fabric paint and heat but I didn't have time to embroider (something I don't do so it would take me forever) nor quilt them...I think it will be okay as long as he doesn't use that side to actually hold the pans.  I did use insulbrite and cotton batting so as long as he keeps the painted side to his hand I don't foresee any big problems.

And here are the oven mitts I made the hard to craft for friend.  I think I will have to make another pair though.  My partner pointed out that they may be too snug for the intended recipient.  I suck at sizing apparently.  The second pair should go faster though.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley

I love Zombie potholders! I think all my friends could use some of those, then all the zombie loving ones would cook and all the cooking ones would have to love zombies.  Cheesy

I craft, and live in my spare time.

Thanks!  He opened them today and likes them very much.  It is rare I can craft for him so I am pleased.
