Ah Miscellaneous Topics my favorite location and home of all the awesome crafts. I have been wanting to post about this project for awhile but since the wife frequents these halls I could not let her catch a glimpse of her present. I had a lot of fun working on this and think it is some of my best work to date, hope you enjoy it as well.

My wife loves mushroom houses but I wanted to make something she could use as well and not just look at on a shelf so I came up with this idea. It has a 24" diameter top, and a 15" diameter base. it is about 2 feet tall and has a working door, and a flickering yellow LED light behind the window.

Finished Project.

Happy wife

Thank you and I hope you all enjoyed it.

This is undoubtedly one of the best projects I have ever seen. You, sir, have won the craftverse. (I wanted to put "internets", but it seemed out of context somehow) I want one. Or at least I would want one if I didn't know my cats would eat everything on it, including the door.

"That's my lab table and this is my work-stool. And over there is my intergalactic spaceship! And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wire."

...oh, if it wasn't clear, I'm rarely completely serious. Smiley

I agree with the sentiment that function is just as important as form .... I've too many dust collectors myself, and have asked not to receive any more - you did such an awesome job on the stool! I like the door Smiley

A wonderful toadstool - but more importantly a wonderful husband for creating such a thoughtful gift - who could ask for more than that?

I love it!
Especially the details at the bottom. The little door, the stones, the moss, the plants, the butterflies.
And it is functional too. Great!
Happy Holidays!

I absolutely love this stool!  My late husband introduced me to Gnomes and all that goes with it, when he took me to Rock City TN. I want to take my 40 or 50 Gnomes and create a scene in the yard next summer. Something like this would be a great beginning item.

I am sure your wife is going to love it!!
