MommytheMaid approached me a few months ago with a question. She was doing a swap and wanted to make a specific necklace for her partner that was on the partner's wist. But she didn't feel confident enough to make it herself. I'm of course known for my jewelry, so she came to me to see about a trade.
I admit, at first, I wasn't sure. It was a very different style from what I've made in the past. And it looked very...fiddly. Plus finding supplies that look like the original are always difficult. But, I decided I was up for the challenge.
Here's the finished piece:

And here's the inspiration piece:
Took about about a month for all the parts to arrive. I ordered them from various online sellers and most shipped from other countries. Then it took about four hours of assembly. Once I broke it down into sections, it was easier. I just did it assembly line style, making all the same parts, grouping them and then finishing the necklace only after all the separate parts were complete.
I was really pleased with how it came out. It felt like a big accomplishment. MommytheMaid loved it and her partner opens it Christmas Eve so hopefully she will as well!!
As always, thoughts welcome!
