I found this chart on ravelry, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fornicating-deer-chart and had been hoping to come up with something to knit it for. I've only been knitting for a few months, but it looked such fun I knew I'd have to play with it.

So, last week, whilst attempting to get some sort of order in making christmas gifts (I like leaving things to the last minute...) I decided to make a christmas card for bestest bud. She has a warped sense of humour like me, so this chart was ideal.

I'm not great at either knitting, or the card-making, but I still like it. Hopefully she will too.

P.S, Despite comments to the contrary on the Ravelry page, both male and females grow antlers, so its not necessarily 2 randy male reindeers. Just wanted to make the point...there's a misconception that lady reindeers don't get the fancy head gear  Grin

I've seen this chart used for many-a-knitted items, but never a card before: very creative.  I think you did an excellent job! Your friend will definitely love it.

I'm currently knitting this chart as a mug cosy. any tips you can give another novice knitter?
I'm planning on using the stranded method of joining because intarsia looks TERRIFYINGLY complicated.
