My dad died of a massive heart attack on April 5th of this year.  Took us all by complete surprise as he was only 49 with no prior health history indicating heart issues.  I asked my mom for all of my dad's jeans and button down type shirts.  I made this for my mom from them and also made 7 teddy bears that will go to grand kids and my mom.

Disregard the haggard look of me.  I spent 8 hours with a horrible headache finishing this and the bears up on Sunday.

Such a wonderfull labour of love!
I bet your mum will cherish it.
I wish you good holidays, sharing lots of lovely memories of your dad, and a happy new year!

this is a beautiful way to honor your dad's memories, and keep a part of him close-by!  i know your mom and the recipients of the bears will be SO appreciative Smiley

This is so great. My dad unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack this year as well. I am frantically trying to finish up several t-shirt quilts for my family for Christmas. He was a truck driver, so his wardrobe was very casual Smiley I may only finish one or two of them, and I was thinking of just bailing on the whole project, but this has inspired me to get my butt in gear and finish - at least the ones for my sister & grandma. The uncles and aunt can wait.
I hope your holiday season is a good one, even without your dad.

This is the sweetest idea, and I love the little hearts in the corner of the first picture. I'm sure your mom will love wrapping up in these quilts that will always remind her of your father. She will always cherish this thoughtful gift.
