I promised my Aunt I'd make her a quilt this Christmas, and I'm really proud of this one. This is my 3rd completed quilt, and even though there are still plenty of mistakes, there are definitely less than the first two attempts, so I'm learning at least.  Roll Eyes

My aunt likes owls, and she and her husband own a pair of Harleys and ride up and down the East Coast all the time. I wanted to incorporate both interests into her quilt so this is what I came up with:

The backing is the same as the binding:

Detail of the Harley owl:

Detail of one of the normal owls:

I hope she likes it! I'll find out on Thursday when I drive down to visit. Smiley

UPDATE: She loves it! Woo hoo! And I'm so excited my humble little project made the front page!  Grin (happy dance) Thank you!

Nice job. I like that only one owl has the Harley bandana. It's like Sesame Street, "One of these things is not like the other..." *Pulls herself away from Craftster to work on the owl quilt she's working on*

I absolutely LOVE that!

I like how subtle it is until you get to the last owl, then you can't help but giggle because he rocks!!

That's adorable.  I love the Harley owl, he made me giggle even before I knew the backstory.  I'm sure they will love it.

Thank you everyone! My Aunt loved it (whew!). As for the pattern, I just drew it out on graph paper first, and hoped they'd still look like owls once they were sewn, ha ha!
