I'm really happy with how this DIY came out! Here is the clutch I made:

And here is one of the (many) inspiration pieces...Alexander McQueen's awesome skull clutches.

About $1595 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Picture is from Zappos.com

The supplies. I made this clutch using a simple, solid black eyeglass case...but of course there are tons of eyeglasse cases out there. You can get really creative with the shade/print/texture, depending on what eyeglass case you find.

I decided to make mine into a purse. But I can easily make it back into a clutch if I had used jump rings to connect the chain to the elastic loops. That can always be easily done if I decide to do that, though.
