Your tree is just darling!  I'm not as crafty as you are, so am thinking of trying an  upside down tomato cage.  It will be smaller of course, maybe I'll spray paint it black? green?  before I hang it. I can't wait to try it.

You should get a patent for the great idea! Wink

I love how everyone seems to get own ideas of how to make trees now, makes my heart all warm and fluffy ^^

And Ginnee- I don't like patents, I'd rather people like it and make their own if they like too. I wouldn't mind seeing someone ever selling my ideas, the money is nothing to me compared to the joy of seeing people liking what I do Cheesy

(Trying this again, since my previous reply apparently didn't post.)

Terrific idea!  Did you make the wire hoops?  If so, how?  Can you give us some idea of the circumferences of the inner and outer hoops?  I'd like to try to build one, but I've never worked with wire before.

Uttercaro: Oh gosh... I don't really know how to answer. I made the hoops myself yes, simply laying the wire on the floor in a circle of wanted size, and just wrapped it around it self at the edges to form a connected circle. I can't say I've worked with wire before either properly, so as you can see at the pictures it's terribly un-even. But... Basically I just made the lowest one as wide as I wanted the tree (maybe one meter across, I'm not sure), and then I made a very tiny one to go on top. Then I chose two more layers inbetween (but that's optional of course) and just made them in in-between-sizes, very symetrical. The inner hopps are much smaller than the outer ones. The bottom one is the size of the second highest outer one, and then they just get smaller. I'm sorry I'm so bad at explaining, but really it's just.... go with it and improvise =) Worked for me ^^

How great! It's a super pretty combination of traditional and modern...and I love love love that you and your guy were able to find a compromise, to create something that was special to you as a couple without stepping on the toes of what is special to you guys as individuals.

I am so impressed with your un-tree.  It is late this year to do it, but next year I think I will do it and add my quilled snowflakes and paper garlands on an untree.  One question though...what kind of wire did you use?

Oh, that sounds really neat and crafty =)
I really have no idea what kind of wire it was. Just some scrap I had lying around... Sorry I can't help you much there, but I think it doesn't matter much, as long as you can handle the wire and it has enough structure to hold up enough.
