The lack of fiber-y goodness lately makes me sad. Though I haven't contributed much either.

Merino, food coloring dyed, plied w/ thread. 100+ yards? I forget. Cheesy

60/30/10 Merino, bamboo, nylon in 'Sleeping Beauty' from Sheepish Creations on Etsy. Cheesy 130 yards, fingering/lace weight. Hasn't been set yet so I haven't checked wpi.

My WIP this week. Cheesy Merino/tencel This is SO. SOFT. Spinning it up really thin to hopefully get enough for a good 2 ply. Might ply it with some coordinating merino, I haven't decided yet.

SHOW ME YOUR FIBER PORN!

So pretty!  I've been busy knitting and crocheting this week, so no new fiber.

I'm a bit shy to post, but I spun a TON of stuff this past week. Pretty much all of my free time was filled with spinning or plying or at least thinking about spinning....it was great.

First up are a couple of things I spun up from hand dyed stuff from Etsy. This I call "Freedom Rock" and is 85 yards of bulky weight superwash BFL by girl on the rocks in colorway Freesia:

"Yours" is 70 yards of Rambouillet hand dyed by Yummy Yarn in colorway Mine:

The rest are spun up from stuff I carded into batts...

"Bubblegum Blossom" is about 125 yards of bulky weight (mostly) merino:

"Precious Earthquakes" is kind of a random mix of wools, I haven't yet decided whether or not to ply or leave as singles:

"The Golden Hour" is 78 yds of heavy worsted random wools and bits:

"Chronic" was my first attempt at "art yarn". It's a random mix of fluffiness that I plied with neon green sewing thread:

And last but not least is some super fresh alpaca I got from an alpaca farm in Bow, WA. I have a bunch more carded up and ready to spin but this is the first finished product. The alpaca it came from was named Xena so I call it "Warrior Princess":

Best week ever!

lovely stuff, ladies!!! I really like the colours in "chronic".

my camera and I seem to be taking a break from our relationship, I think she just needs some time. I know I tend to overwhelm her sometimes...

I haven't posted in a long time but I always visit fiber fridays eagerly! I bought a used louet a few months ago and here is my first born of any quantity! 195 yards of 2 ply merino wool bought at the Rhinebeck fiber fest. The colorway is Mojave.
Please keep the yarn porn coming everyone!

It's beautiful freegrrl!

Don't limit your photos to those yarns that have yardage.  I for one, Love to see new spinner's yarns.  I've been trying the past year to spin again like that and pictures of true first yarns gives me inspiration and ideas!

Now go get your camera back out and show us some of your first yarns!! Smiley

PLEASE!

and THANK YOU!
