How nifty of you!!  It looks great!!
This brings back some happy memories!!
I did this when I was in college and I wanted the feel of a "fireplace" in my dorm room.  I had a single room and wanted to decorate for Christmas.  My then boyfriend bought some "fireplace" brick and some foam board.  We made the "fireplace" together for the holidays.
He must have done something right because he's now my husband ^_^

Genius! Something like that would be awesome in my house since we don't have a fireplace. Love it!

Omg, this is adorable!

I live in Brazil, so here the winter is never too cold and we don't tend to get fireplaces at home...
but I've always wanted to hang some socks and play with my youngest sister, now I know how!

Thanks so much for the brilliant idea,
don't know if I can make this until friday, but I'll give it a try!

What a great idea! I would love to have a real fireplace in my house, and I wish I had such a great area in my living room to make a faux one! Very cute! Thanks for sharing!

thanks! this is our first winter in southwest Florida. It's almost 80 F today (about 26 C) so,not very cold here either! lol I never had a real fireplace when I lived up north and the chances are probably less that I will have one don here!

What an awesome way to create a mantle for stockings. I was sad because our new apartment doesn't have a fireplace, but it looks like I can improve the situation next year. Thanks for the idea!
