We have these nooks on the wall with ledges. DH thought it was the perfect spot for a fireplace & suggested I have at it Tongue Here's what I did...

I used 1 large home depot moving box from the pile in the garage, scissors and some hot glue...

Closer view of the fire...

And a side view so you can see the 3D wonder of it all Tongue

The kids love it and I had fun making it. It was a SUPER QUICK project. I don't know if I want to put it away after Christmas though, I may keep it there all year Smiley

thanks Smiley you totally can! i think i spent 2 hrs total on the whole thing. I was going to paint the cardboard but have so much to do that i bought a roll of the brick paper at Michaels for 7 bux - woulda been less if I had a 40% off coupon lol If you have cardboard, hot glue or packing tape and some paint you can make this FAST!

My boys and I did something similar years ago. It is amazing that a fireplace, made out of cardboard or real, adds to the coziness of Christmas and winter. You did a really good job!

Thanks Smiley maybe it's an ancient instinct, feeling comfort from the fireplace/hearth?
