This is a dog I painted last week or so. I am still getting used to working with acrylic paints but I think this turned out pretty okay? It doesn't feel entirely done, if you know what I mean, but I'm nervous about working on it more. I don't want to ruin it!

I watercolor painted all of my Christmas cards this year. As you can see with the last 3, I got lazy toward the end! Coming up with ideas for each and every friend is tough so I just repeated this muscle man a few times since he was my favorite. The Christmas tree was fun to make, too, though.

I love the dog painting and I wouldn't even know you'd only just started acrylics. About it feeling unfinished--it may be that the shading in the head is more subtle than the shading in the ear and so it almost looks solid by contrast (of course that could be the computer ?). Just a thought, but by all means I love it just the way it is and would be happy to hang such a painting! The pink and blue are great together. Smiley

Thank you so much! I also really like him! I will be making many more strongmen!

Ooooh that is a good point about the shading! I think you might be right. You know, it's so funny, I didn't even think to try to add any shading or gradient to the head part, just the ear.  Cheesy The internet never ceases to be useful! Thank you!

I absolutely love the blue dog. Smiley  I never would have thought that you used acrylics.  Much better results than I've ever gotten.
