So while stalking a partner for a swap, I found this cute project:

Cute little felted bowls.  I decided to play around to see if it would come out as a Christmas present for my Mom.  I used plastic eyes left over from Halloween, a plastic prize bubble from a machine, and a Styrofoam ball for the bigest one.  I did most of the felting at the sink, but I eventually put them into nylon socks and put them into the dryer with some towels.

Using the eyes for the little ones lead to an interesting effect....

Nestled into the nest for the night                        Here the Monopus venture out on there own for the first time.                    Occasionally, the Monopus have vicious fights over the most prized eyeballs.

And this is the big bowel upside down

I really love how those turned out!  I've always wanting to try making felted bowls -- I even bought styrofoam balls, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

LOVE THEM!!!!
I like the styrofoam ball idea.  I have made vessels and used balloons for a resist, but these were larger.  I want to make some smaller ones and I am always lookng for ideas for a resist.
