well, my partner's received and she's been under the weather lately so i'll post a picture for her of what i made her.

It was inspired by all the tree things in her wists along with my knowledge of her love for sewing and her husband.  the thread makes a C for his name.

sorry its a dark picture.  it was taken on my phone right before i popped it into the post box

these latest additions are all totally awesome.  I'm going to be making a cozy for my computer, to convince me to not go on it all day, and i might have to stitch that fight club quote across the top!

I agree with Belladune, all of the recent additions are AWESOME!

The little mushroom hoops are totally precious. The Fight Club quote is flat out rad - love the colors! The snitch hoop is also adorable - the shiny clouds are great.

jnny_heck, I'm in love with both of your hoops!! The stick figure cartoon so so so neat and I just want to squish that adorable "i'm so fluffy hoop"!!

The thread/needle tree is very clever!! What an awesome idea!

I love the black and red cartoon Cheesy Things like that make awesome embroideries. Vildhavre stitched the rotation matrix xkcd comic once (should be posted here somewhere, though years back) and I grin every time I see it on her wall Cheesy

Schnerby, that postcard is of the Gates of Paradise - Ghilberti's bronze reliefs on the doors of the baptistery in Florence.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battistero_di_San_Giovanni_(Florence)  They were a pretty big deal to Michaelangelo.

I should have mentioned that! I recognised the reliefs from my art history time at uni. I was rather taken by the dapper tourists, though. I couldn't imagine backpacking with a three-piece suit.  Grin

This gallery is looking mighty fine.
