Thanks Katara!
I've been working on my steampunk ensemble... and this is what I have so far.

Preliminary Steam by crafty_goldfish, on Flickr

A close up of my gun. It's Rub'n'Buff over black spray paint over bronze spray paint. I've got plans to pimp it out more or maybe I'll attempt to make a BFG from pvc and plywood.

So far I need to sew a utility belt, add leather flaps and buttons to my shirt, get my goggles delivered and modify them, and hopefully fix up my gun/upgrade to something a little more badass. I also have plans to make a leather barrette with a cog on it.
Thoughts? Comments?  I've been hanging out with this stuff for a while, so I'd appreciate some fresh eyes.

I love your outfit! The leather belt thing is so cool. I think your outfit looks well pulled together from what I can see. It's about the style I like in steampunk clothing too.

I think the goggles will really make it though. for the gun you could add some gears or gems to it to add some drama or perhaps "etch" some text for how it works on it?
There's a really cool bunch of steampunk guns and such on the misc board and costumes as well. perhaps some of that would give you some more ideas?

Looking awesome, GoldfishGirl! I haven't started my "in the plans" steampunk costume, but yours is fab. I agree that goggles will totally make it. What was your "base gun" for the steampunky one?

I bought it from one of my cousins because it had a nautilus-esque shape. I bet they got it from a dollar store or something. I sanded off a "Splash!" emblem, but I don't know much more past that.

i decided the last purse I made for myself was too big and bulky for every day use. I had to make myself another.  This time with accessories!
First, the purse:

There's a big pocket on the front that i use for my cell phone.

And the inside:

I carry the music with me wherever I go.  Cheesy  There's 6 card slots and a zipper pocket. The other side has 2 "regular" pockets.

Inside the zipper pocket:

Rainbows! This make me ridiculously happy. Grin

And the wallet to go with it:

My last wallet was HUGE! It could have been a purse all on its own! This one is cute, lightweight and just big enough to fit my everyday needs. I followed babyangels's tutorial, making small adjustments to fit my needs.

Very lovely! I especially like the music not interior.
