This is going to be my Christmas gift to my Dad, I sure hope he likes it! I was originally going to make him a scarf, but my mom suggested making him "one of those scarf tube-things", so a cowl it is!  This is a fairly simple stranded pattern (no shaping), so a great first-time project for someone looking to try the technique.

I used sport weight yarn: Cascade 220 Sport in black and Classic Elite Fresco in gray.  Not a fan of the Fresco, while it is very soft I don't really like the shedding of the angora and alpaca content as it shows a LOT on the black...something I didn't think about when purchasing yarn for this project  Wink

Onto pictures and thanks for looking! Smiley

I LOVE the airship and clock tower details:

The inside, which looks kinda cool:

And a picture with goggles, just for fun! (This is just a bit too big for me, but it sure will fit my Dad) Grin

wow, that's really cool!
I like that the colors nuetral and not in-your-face, but the design is really intricate. Cheesy

Thanks everyone!  Grin

And, it won't slip off his neck somewhere!

This is exactly why my Mom suggested a cowl instead of scarf: didn't want a scarf getting caught in the snowblower Smiley Something I didn't think about until she mentioned it.
