ahh! i'm about to cry, this is just so sweet. For two years I took the trolley to SDHS so I saw them basically every day and it was so depressing. When I was younger I was scared and bothered by them but now that I'm older I realize that many of them don't have an option and need as much help as possible. You are such an awesome person! Thank you for helping out the people of this beautiful city Smiley

This is really similar to what I do here in the Seattle/tacoma area. I have all my friends give me their remnants and make hats and scarves. I'm a little more jaded about who I think would take them if I just left them out, tho, so I take mine to the emergency shelters in our area. In fact my husband is delivering a batch as we speak! If we could get all the knitters/crocheters on craftster to use their remnants this way imagine how many heads we could cover!!!  (hint, hint)

I made the adult Large and Extra Large and I did DOUBLE CROCHET, not half.

Child LG/Adult SM
Ch 4 join to form a ring
Rnd 1: ch 1, 10 hdc in ring. (10 hdc)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around. (20 hdc)
Rnd 3: ch 1, (hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) around. (30 hdc)
Rnd 4: ch 1, hdc in each st around. (30 hdc)
Rnd 5: ch 1, (hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st) around. (40 hdc)
Rnd 6: repeat rnd 4. (40 hdc)
Rnd 7: ch 1, (hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st) around. (50 hdc)
Rnds 8-15: repeat rnd 4. (50 hdc)
Rnds 16-17: sc in each st around. Fasten off. (50 sc)
