When I came across this video tutorial from ThreadBanger: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlHDe9C-eHg I had to make it!

I went to my local thrift store to find an old knit sweater to make my hat out of. I found a really pretty cream colored, ribbed sweater and thought it was perfect. I planned on going to Fabricland to get some faux fur, but at the thrift store I found some random pieces of fur in their "random" section, and it was SO SOFT I had to get it.

There's a link to a pompom-making tutorial in the Threadbanger video, but I think my method for making pompoms is a lot easier Tongue Click here if you want to see my video tutorial on making pompoms! http://www.youtube.com/user/soreribsin?feature=mhum#p/u/5/oFbbmxHBfZc

here it is from the front

the side

the inside - soo nice and warm. i think i'll save this hat for the cold mornings shovelling snow! haha

close-up of the colors

close-up of the pompoms and strings. i used these colors to match some mittens i crocheted a few months ago! they can be seen here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=354989.0

i feel like a little eskimo!

side. the front is so fluffy! you can totally see the safety pin i'm using to keep the front flap up.. it was too thick to sew Tongue

and the back.

Thanks for looking!

thanks! i wanted it to look like a knit hat but i was kind of too lazy to knit or crochet one, so i thought a sweater would work nicely and it did!
