i tried my hand at this project. not quite as cute.  but i think generally good results. i'm no sewing expert.
i didn't use an old coat.  just some remnants.

Oh my - best of 2010... I almost cried when I saw that. Does that make me pathetic?!

And for those who asked about the insert... with everything going on, I didn't get it done before Christmas.. and my daughter said she didn't want one, so I never did get that done. I am working on writing up the pattern for this with clear, complete instructions and pattern pieces for the shapes. I'll be figuring out a zipper or insert for that.
