I have to clarify that that is not my drawing unfortunately, I borrowed it from Wikipedia. It's "Skadi Hunting in the Mountains" by H.L.M. It's the best illustration I could find of her, and I wanted to add it to the notebook along with the other bits of images I borrowed to illustrate winter, Yule, and things related to Louhi and Skadi. holistic knitter also mentioned one or two other deities I wanted to add, but I forgot them because of all the trouble I was having with my bind-it-all!

Hi, everyone!

Here is the lovely package I received from LadyBlades!

This is everything, still wrapped and straight from the box.  Ignore the little packing shreddies; I vacuumed them up later.

Here is a tug toy for the dog, on some vintage fabric (I think a new kitty couch may be in order there!) and a beautiful wooden shelf for an altar piece.

Here is some herb seeds for my garden, along with some coal candy (YAY!) and a happy sun made from salt dough.  I got inspired by this yesterday to clean out the dead plants from the garden and fertilize and mulch for the deep freeze (I'm in zone 7, so it hasn't been that cold consistently, yet.)  There's a beautiful yule card (now on one side of my tiny tree) and a beautiful wooden lucet!

LadyBlades also included catnip and a ball for my cat, and these gorgeous interchangeable necklaces.

But wait, there was more!  (I feel like a Ginsu 2000 advert!  Grin)  She also MADE me an herb drying rack, which was something straight off my Wist.  And the cord matches the colors of my kitchen (terracotta, brick, buttercream, with soft blue and green accents).  I took this picture with it already hanging so y'all could see it best.  Bonus: she and her partner made most of it from recycled materials!

Just wanted to add a post-box-opening moment.  They have such a tough life.   Cheesy

Thank you LadyBlades!  This is the most fun I've had in a swap yet.  And I really have to add that I consider the wrapping of my gifts a bonus, too-- it made everything more exciting!

Such lovely work, everyone! I love how personalized everyone's packages have been so far!

I will be giving feedback for all the completed partner pairs (both partners have sent and recieved) starting now until all partners have completed the swap.

Thanks so very much for great communication! I love you all for helping me keep things straight. Please, if your feedback status on page 1 is not correct, please pm me or Maman to correct it.

I hope everyone had a blessed Yule!

Some really great ideas there! I especially love the pincushion jar. I often see lovely little old jars and wonder what they could be used for. And the herb drying rack is brilliant too. That would be a good use for an old picture frame or a small window frame, too.

Oh my! I've just got my ASTOUNDING package from Ffrogg, who absurdly apologized for how little she'd sent!  Shocked

Okay, here's the stocking, with beautifully embroidered writing. (How long did THAT take?!) And a tub of jennieingram's Christmas Crack. (I was just looking at the recipe this morning and thinking how delicious it sounded!)  And finally, a wonderful Advent calendar garland with little felt pouches for each of the days. December 21 and 25 are in gold, as I celebrate both Yule and Christmas!

Here's the Christmas Crack again (already disappearing) with the LED fibre-optic bow turned on Cheesy But it turns out that the lettering on the stocking was the back, and the front is even MORE spectacular! But what's inside? Not tiny treats or candy sweets, but a lovely string of imported fabric birds, and a toque (that's a knitted cap to non-Canadians) Cheesy I'd told Ffrogg that I hadn't been able to find a simple black wool watch cap, and she knitted what is arguably the best toque I've ever seen.

Look how intricate the top is! And all done in a lovely, soft wool.

Does it fit? Here's proof! (Sorry about the blurry photo. I was taking it at arm's length and kept missing my head Cheesy. By the time I got this shot the camera's battery was dying and it was the best I could do!)

The only other thing in the stocking was a couple empty boxes from Christmas puzzles. "Hmmm," I thought. "She must've put those in as filler or stiffening." No, of course not. Turns out the puzzle pieces are scattered through the 12 Day of Christmas in the Advent pockets! I can hardly wait to see what the other little treats are inside each. (Look how beautifully made they are, with the number embroidered on each pouch in silver cord, and little Velcro tabs to keep them closed.) The best thing about getting an Advent calendar right at Christmas is that you don't have to wait to open any of the days! And next year I can fill it up again and enjoy it all over again. (Maybe I should fill it early in the year so I'll have forgotten what's inside by December.)

Thanks for the most amazing, splendid package. Grin  I can't believe how much work you put into this. No wonder the last few weeks before your holidays were so stressful!
