I got this pattern from Crotch Stitch on etsy last year with the intent to give it to my boyfreind last Christmas.  This project was WAAAY bigger than I anticipated so I did not finish it in time.  Then I tried to finish it for his birthday in February last year, again...didn't finish it in time. After that I put it down for quite a while because I was so sick of how long it was taking and the color pink!!
About a month ago I picked it up again determined to finish it for this Christmas.  I am so so happy to report that I finally finished this ginormous thing last night!! It is 100x100 but I only did half stitches (just / instead of a full X).  I started doing that just because I always do all the / and then go back to finish the X.  Once I realized how long this was going to take, I decided I would not be doing the full X. If I hadn't made that decision early on, I'm sure this thing would have been in the trash a year ago LOL
I know it's kind of a weird thing to make for my boyfriend but I made it with the idea that he would hang it in the "Man Cave".  There aren't many crafted items that would be appropriate in such a place  Roll Eyes

Close up of all the stitches...all 10,000 of them!

I will probably never, EVER again attempt something this large, I was out of my mind thinking this was a good idea!!  It is a pretty awesome feeling finishing it though!

I think this is beautiful.  It's an "adult" picture, but so tasteful.  Kudos on your perseverance and congratulations on a gorgeous finished piece.

Awesome! It's def. something different and interesting. I am sure the pink got irritating after awhile, but the monochromatic-ish thing has a nice effect.

Kudos to you for finishing such a large project! I'm feeling that large project pain right now in trying to finish a kitty portrait for my SIL. Half stitching it was genius!  Wink
