Another Matchbox Advent (pic chubby)

I jumped on the matchbox advent calendar bandwagon this year . I was inspired by one I saw on Sweet Paul (http://sweetpaul.typepad.com/my_weblog/) as well as many of the calendars others have shared here!



I took some in-process photos in case anyone is interested in how I did this.

I stamped 25 matchboxes and then lined them each with holiday papers.



I glued the outsides of the boxes together with hot glue. I row of 9, one of 7, one of 5, etc...


I wrapped each row in holiday paper and then hot glued the wrapped rows together in the shape of a tree.


Last but not least, I filled each box with special treats and whimsies!

This is AMAZING! I love all the wooden advents I've seen redecorated, but I seriously love the idea of using matchboxes!! It's awesome, and i wish I had thought of it!!! Well, I'll be wisting, adding to my favorite projects, and putting something similar on my to do list.

So cool!  I saw something similar to this at Target for $30!!  I think I'll go ahead and make one now with this as inspiration

It really was easy to make and I hope others will give it a try. I think I would use wrapping paper instead of card stock next time though. The creasing and scoring of the thick paper is what took the longest .
