I was inspired by Richard Saja (http://historically-inaccurate.blogspot.com/) and thought I had toile in my fabric pile..it was actually a toile print on stretchy cotton blend so I ironed some interfacing to the back. The cat, fish and crane are from some Japanese fabrics I got at a yard sale, the flowers are from a piece of vintage-y fabric from a church sale and the leaves in the cornes and the borders are from a kanga cloth, also yard sale. The pieces are hand appliqued and the border is machine-sewn. I know it looks totally homamade, but I like the way it came out...thanks for looking, c & c welcome!

This is WICKED COOL!!! Yes, it looks homemade...it wouldn't look right otherwise! This reminds me of the collages in Nick Bantock's books, which I absolutely adore.  AWESOME stitchery!
