Once I had this idea in my head I found this perfect 5 Point Celtic Motif by Sue Hanson for it. In tatting, a piece is referred to as "Celtic style" if it has any interwoven pieces, not just traditional knot work. For this one you tat once piece, then tat a second separate piece. Next you weave the two together and tat another round to finish and join them together.

The motif is attached to the leather with small dots of fabric glue. I like the contrast in color as well as texture.

I didn't have any leather working tools so I settled on a simple punched hole and hemp cord to lace it up type closure. Works just fine!

For this one I modified a motif pattern into this for a necklace. I posted the free pattern on my site here: www.pieknits.com/blog/2010/11/modified_motif.html

"Half Moon Dreaming" free pattern by Kersti.com. Really love this one, it's a gift but I may need to make one of my own now too. Sad to see it go!

My second pair of Quadrille earrings in black with iridescent blue beads.
