So I wanted to make a wreath for Christmas time and ended up with a wreath that can go for any occasion really. I got the sticks from my boyfriends backyard and just hot glued them all together to form the wreath. I then wrapped some jute string around in just a random way for looks. I made the little owl guys and voila! The bow is a scrap piece of fabric i just threw together because I like the color. So I hope this gives ideas! It is really easy, free, and would make a great gift for anyone. And the best thing, I can remove the owls and bow and add anything for any season!!

Sticks, with nothing on it yet.

This looks amazing - I love the natural feel to it and the fact you can switch things up according to the season.  Do you mind me asking how you made the little owls?  I couldn't really tell from the picture.  My little one loves owls and I think they'd be cute hanging around his room.

I love the cute little owls and that the wreath looks like a nest! I would also love to know how you made the the owls. Did you have to do anything to the sticks before using them? (I'm envisioning my house full of bugs or critters from the sticks, lol)

http://moonstitches.typepad.com/moonstitches/2007/11/index.html Moonstitches is where I got the pattern and idea of the owls from.

Well the sticks are from a tree that fell down in a windstorm 2 months ago. A friend broke them down into small pieces when he was preparing to make a fire pit which never happened. So these sticks were sitting on dirt for awhile and I didn't do anything to them. I have the wreath hanging on the front door so it's not inside. But I'm sure you could do something to the sticks to debug them if you were planning on using it inside.
