I've had some light green cardstock and a sheet of kraft paper from the box my dishes came in sitting in my paper supplies for awhile now, and Christmas seems the perfect time to use them both.  The door to my apartment is also rather empty, but the previous tenant put a nail in it to hang a wreath, so I decided it needed some decoration for the holidays.  We can't hang anything heavy because our door tends to get shaken whenever the outside door to our unit is closed.  Paper, then, is the perfect medium for making our door welcoming for the holidays, and a little gift box with a merry Christmas wish is now hanging on the door.

I first used the square box template.  I printed it on regular paper, then traced it onto the kraft paper and cardstock.  I used the flower template as well, and printed that one directly onto the cardstock because of the detailed cuts.  With a bit of glue, the box was ready.  A little slit in the back with my handy dandy craft knife let me hang it on the door.  The little bit that says "Merry Christmas" was also cut from the template, but without separating each of the petals for the flower, so that it's a little medallion.

Happy holidays!
