Ha!  I use pokey-outy because when I described it as "3D" at my guild meeting, someone (rightly, yet nitpickily) pointed out that the whole thing was technically 3D. Tongue

OK, I was just telling my daughter last night that I would make her a blanket this year, and I can tell you HANDS DOWN she's going to pick this one - I don't even need to ask!!!  This blanket is AWESOME!

I see the yarn you used was Bernat - but what line?  And how many balls of BLACK did you end up needing??

I will test the flower pattern later next week - first I have to run out to buy some yarn!!

Thank you SO much for sharing this gorgeous pattern.  My daughter is going to flip!

I'm not absolutely certain, but I estimate I used 12 balls of black (and one ball each of 12 colours)

I used Bernat Satin solids for the whole thing (warning: Bernat Satin is a heavy-ish yarn... I like using it for blankets because I love heavy blankets... if you don't, though, use something else. lol)

This pattern should work with any smooth yarn, though.

It is awesomely thick and cozy - and soft!

I think it would also be gorgeous with cream instead of black. Hey, Mio! (kidding! Cheesy)

Tongue

A lady in my guild is making baby blankets with this pattern, and she is doing a white background, and it's so pretty!  I hope she brings one in so I can get a pic. ^_^
