Ah, there we go!  No hair and makeup will just make it a fun outfit and not clown-a-riffic so much   Thanks for considering all us scaredy-cats

Here's my recent 2 endeavors, shorts and dusting mitts.  Gotta add the mitts to my 50 list and kick something else off...





Shorts are dark peach calcutta cloth and quilter's cotton, respectively.  The mitts are burgundy fleece, straight stitched around and edges pinked down to a scant 1/4" or so all around.  Since fleece doesn't fray, I figured not turning these and trimming the seam allowance would make them more neat looking.  Fleece gets a bit lumpy when turned if it's not a stuffed animal or a clothing item of some sort.  I love these mitts, I think now that I have this set of 3 and the bonus dust cloth (I had to do something with that leftover square!) I will do a lot more dusting.  The fleece really holds in the funk, then just shake outside and keep going when it's too covered to do it's job well   Toss in the wash to clean!  I claimed some more fleece from an ongoing swap I'm in, so I will likely have an entire multi-color dust mitt army soon.

Loving the dust mitts TSM - what a good idea. Dust plays havoc with my skin, so those would be great for me - think I've just found another project, lol!! I've also been reading the old knitalong sampler quilt posts - so many great patterns, I want to make a start on of one those two.

I've finally finished the boring socks - I just don't have the patience for such thin wool and needles unless the pattern is complicated enough to hold my attention, and these weren't!

Sorry for the poor quality pics - it's really hard to take a good picture of your own feet! The pics don't show it too well, but in the top half of the rib, there is a sparkly pink thread knitted in there for extra prettiness. The variation in the wool wasn't quite what I was after, but it's OK, and the birthday girl loved them which is what it's all about, eh?




Considering how bored I was, I'm partway through another pair (for me this time!) in chunkier fair isle effect wool and I'm loving it! I intended to use circular needles, but I tried, and failed - again!!!

I'm working up the courage to go to a local knitting group tomorrow, so if I manage it, I might find someone that can show me in the flesh!

Right, better go - should be doing homework - does Craftster count as research??

I can't believe I've never thought of making dusting mitts. I love them! I will make them! I might even use them!

I have lots of bits of fleece and flannel...I need cleaning and dusting rags galore!

Love the socks...something I have given up on trying to do...I just can't get the hang of them...

I crocheted a new beret for myself...it must mean I am uninspired...in a slump for sure...

I've finished four projects for a swap package. Definitely my best package sent out ever. Ok, mabye not better that the Jareth, but at least on par!

I've got a few things to do for my nieces this week, and I'll be able to share those, and then it's back to swap crafting. At least my remaining two swaps are in Australia so I only have to wait a few days instead of a few weeks to post pictures. (Psst, My latest pics are up on Ravelry though)

I made one of the amis I had queued up for my niece's birthday. She is into Japanese things, so I made her this cute fish to sushi pattern I found on Ravelry.
